Things Are Happening Again...

I purchased the vapor lock while in-between classes today. So I was finally able to get the wine transferred over to the secondary fermentation jug. As long as I see some bubbles coming through the water lock within the next couple of days, everything will be right on schedule, and all that is left for me to do for a while is let it sit there in peace for about a month. Then I have to start worrying about finding the bottles and getting them cleaned up and sterilized… but that is a different problem for another day.
My cold has cleared up, and I’m knocking on wood while saying “I think it’s finally gone for good.” Famous last words, I know. I have finally hit a slow patch around here, and I don’t have much planned for the week. There are plenty of things that need done, of course. I need to build a pen for the turkey chicks we have ordered for the beginning of April. That seems like a long ways away, but I still need to round up the materials, clean out a space in the work shop for them, find the heat lamp, buy new bulbs, get the saw dust bedding, buy the chick feed, find and clean the food and water containers… and then when that is all finished… I have to start fixing up the actual turkey pen for when they get bigger.  I will talk more in a later blog about what breed of turkey we are going to be raising this year. I’m actually very excited about them; it is going to be one hell of a tasty Thanksgiving!
