I'm Back...

Wow! Today was the busiest day yet so far this spring. I absolutely love when the weather turns for the better, when the sun comes out and warms up everything, including my mood. But, on the other hand, when the weather gets nicer, that means the work load is about to go into warp overdrive. There are thousands of things on my to do list at the moment, and I got about half of one of them done today.
I actually started three separate projects today. Every time I would get about halfway done with one project I would realize I was missing an important component required to finish the task. My first job of the day was to fix the clothes line. Over the years the weight of the wet clothes hanging on the lines has pulled the two posts at either end inward, and I had to dig out around both post in order to push them back up, square them off, and reinforce them below ground. I actually got about three quarters of the way done with that project; the only thing left to do is fill in the back half of one of the holes. But, I need a wheel-barrel to do that, and ours broke this winter while I was using it to haul fire wood up to the porch. So, buying a wheel-barrel is on tomorrows to do list.

I also started to clear up some of the raised beds in order to get them ready for planting in a few weeks. This picture is of the before… as you can see, there is a lot to get done. I actually got a pretty good start on clearing them up today. I’ll put up another picture when I am done; it would be pointless to update the pictures every time I get a little bit more done because it will probably take weeks to finish getting the garden area ready to plant.

I have a lot more going on that just those two things. I will write another blog in the morning about some of the other projects I have going on around here. I am going to get the strawberry wine transferred tonight, and I bought another jug so I will be able to get six gallons of beer a brewin’ tonight as well.
Oh, and today is day 22 without a cigarette!
